Horrifying moment: Elderly rapper passes out mid-air during performance — Fans left stunned as the mic drops and the incident unfolds before their eyes

A terrifying scene unfolded during a live performance when veteran TikTok rapper Pete Bowditch left fans stunned after collapsing mid-show while suspended high above the stage.

The London-born performer, one half of viral rap duo Pete & Bas, was in the middle of delivering his lyrics while strapped into a harness when things suddenly took a dramatic turn. Witnesses described how, just moments after confidently “spitting bars,” Pete appeared to lose consciousness — his head slumping forward onto his chest as his arms went limp.

In a chilling split-second, the performance turned into a real-life “mic drop” moment as the microphone slipped from his hand and fell toward the stage below.

Despite the alarming situation unfolding above them, the music continued to blast through the speakers and the dancers carried on with their routine — seemingly unaware that Pete was dangling motionless above them.

Fans watched in horror as the elderly rapper, believed to be in his 70s, spun helplessly in the harness after blacking out in front of the live crowd.

Early reports suggest the harness may have restricted his circulation, potentially triggering the sudden blackout, though this has not been officially confirmed.

The shocking incident is believed to have taken place during a show in Chicago on Monday, March 16.

Following the ordeal, Pete & Bas quickly moved to reassure worried fans. In a statement shared online, they said: “We would like to apologise for last night’s show, the good news is Pete is now in a stable condition.”

They added: “We’ll be issuing refunds to all ticket holders. All current European tour dates will still be going ahead.”

The duo — made up of lifelong friends Pete Bowditch and Basil Bellgrave — first rose to fame in 2017 after an unlikely start. Pete reportedly discovered his love for rap when his granddaughter played hip-hop music in his car, inspiring the pair to release their debut track Shut Ya Mouth on YouTube “just for fun.”

The song quickly went viral, launching them into internet fame and earning them a loyal global fanbase. Since then, they’ve performed across Europe, racked up over a million Instagram followers, and even collaborated with major artists including M24 and T-Pain.

But for fans at Monday night’s show, the unforgettable moment wasn’t the music — it was the terrifying sight of a beloved performer suddenly going limp mid-air, leaving an entire crowd holding its breath.
