Drama erupted on Britain’s Got Talent when judge Alesha Dixon was left injured after a heated on-air clash with Simon Cowell over the coveted Golden Buzzer during Saturday night’s episode.
The tense moment unfolded as Simon, 66, and Alesha, 47, locked horns over which act deserved the special honour — and the disagreement escalated so dramatically that Alesha ended up hurting her hand and accidentally smashing Amanda Holden’s microphone in the chaos.

The confrontation happened after Simon had already used his Golden Buzzer earlier in the series for Australian aerial silks performer Paul Nunnari, who wowed the judges with a breathtaking routine despite performing from a wheelchair.
Paul stunned the audience by strapping himself into his wheelchair before climbing the aerial silks using only his arms. As the act intensified, another performer swung the ropes around the stage, sending Paul spinning horizontally through the air while suspended on the silks.
But the most jaw-dropping moment came when he removed his grip entirely and placed the loop around his neck, allowing himself to spin hands-free high above the stage — leaving judges and viewers in awe.

Despite already awarding his Golden Buzzer earlier, Simon reportedly tried to bend the rules and push for another act — something fiercely competitive Alesha was not prepared to allow.
Speaking about the dramatic moment, Alesha admitted she physically threw herself at the buzzer to stop Simon from pressing it first.
She explained: Alesha revealed that Simon had been winding her up throughout the filming and their playful rivalry quickly turned intense. She said she saw him reach for the buzzer and thought he was not going to get it, so she dived across the desk, breaking Amanda Holden’s microphone and hitting her hand in the process. She joked that it was definitely the most physical Golden Buzzer she had ever done on the show.
The singer and TV personality also hinted that their competitive dynamic might come from the fact they share the same birthday.
She added that the moment showed how competitive they both are and joked that perhaps it is because they were born on the same day. Alesha said she had loved the act and thought her 12-year-old daughter would be thrilled by it, explaining that she had really pressed the buzzer for her daughter rather than herself because she is not a huge fan of computers.
In a twist of fate, Simon later used his Golden Buzzer for another act — one Alesha admitted she had been devastated not to claim first.
The Golden Buzzer has been one of Britain’s Got Talent’s most iconic features since its introduction in 2014. Each judge — along with hosts Ant and Dec — is allowed one press per series, sending a performer straight through to the live shows.
However, as Saturday’s chaotic moment proved, even those rules can become part of the drama.
Viewers watching the March 7 episode will finally see the fiery exchange unfold on screen — including the moment Alesha launched herself across the desk in one of the most dramatic Golden Buzzer moments the show has ever seen.
