Richest Chef in Britain… But Begging for Instalments: Gordon Ramsay Admits He’s Paying Off His Daughter’s Massive Wedding Flower Bill in Monthly Payments

He may be worth a reported £162 million, but even Gordon Ramsay admits there are limits — especially when it comes to a jaw-dropping wedding flower bill.

The fiery TV chef, 59, has revealed he’s paying back a staggering £65,000 floral invoice from daughter Holly Ramsay’s December wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty — in monthly instalments.

And why? Because his fortune is currently tied up in his ambitious new restaurant empire inside London’s towering 22 Bishopsgate.

Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jason King and Kelly Brook, Gordon didn’t hold back. Asked how he felt watching his daughter walk down the aisle at Bath Abbey on December 27, he confessed: “Firstly I was crying my eyes out — because of the flower bill.”

He joked that “half the tears were the size of the flower bill,” adding that only Holly would “decorate the entire Bath cathedral with flowers. One of the most historic buildings. Anyone else on the planet, no.”

As laughter filled the studio, Gordon painted a vivid picture of the moment he realised the scale of the cost. “I swear to god, the aisle was 65 metres long,” he said. “Every time I walked past a pew I was walking up and down going ‘7 grand’, ‘another 7 grand’ — 65 grand of flowers!”

Despite his wealth, Gordon admitted he hasn’t even looked at the final invoice yet. Instead, he’s asked to pay it off monthly because he’s still financing his colossal Bishopsgate venture. “I haven’t seen the bill yet because I’ve asked if I could do payments on a monthly basis, because I’m still paying for Bishopsgate,” he said.

His Netflix documentary, which charts the opening of five new restaurants in the capital’s second-tallest building, reveals just how high the stakes are. The project reportedly costs around £20 million — and Gordon has described the past year as “the most challenging 12 months of our entire lives.”

But despite the financial shock, he insisted Holly’s big day was unforgettable. “All jokes apart, it was an amazing day,” he said, revealing his speech was his favourite part. Guests dined on prawn cocktail and his signature beef wellington — a fitting menu for Britain’s most famous chef.

The wedding itself was not without drama. Adam, 31, reportedly disinvited members of his own family amid tensions involving his mother, Caroline, casting a shadow over what should have been a seamless celebration.

Still, Gordon ended on a heartfelt note, saying: “It’s just that amazing moment when you see your little girl just become an incredible woman.”

And in a final touch that softened even the sharpest headlines, he revealed the lavish blooms didn’t go to waste — they were donated to local hospices and churches after the ceremony.
