Eamonn Holmes has delivered a gut-wrenching update on his health just days after falling off his chair during a live broadcast on GB News. The 65-year-old presenter, who was also hospitalised weeks earlier after a separate fall at home, has left fans deeply concerned.
In a raw social media post, Eamonn shared a throwback photo from just three years ago, looking healthy and mobile. “It makes me sad,” he wrote. “I could walk.” He added, “Got to redouble my efforts,” showing determination despite his pain.

The fall, which occurred live on air, was followed by a visibly shaken Holmes returning to the screen. “I’m still alive,” he joked — but later admitted the incident was a serious shock, especially as it aggravated injuries from his earlier fall in the bathroom.
“This hit me again right in the back,” he said. “I’m really sore. The chair gave way and I landed flat.”

Holmes has been battling chronic back pain for years, including three slipped discs, spinal surgery, and a double hip replacement. He now relies on walking aids and a wheelchair.
Adding to the emotional weight, Eamonn admitted his health struggles had caused strain in his marriage to Ruth Langsford, before their separation in 2024. He is now dating Katie Alexander, a therapist 22 years his junior.
The broadcaster’s honesty has struck a chord with fans, who flooded social media with support. One called him “a national treasure for showing strength in vulnerability.”
