Martine McCutcheon Was Left Speechless When Rylan Clark Dropped a Bombshell About Love Actually — He Was There, Watching Her Kiss Hugh Grant, and No One Knew Until Now

Martine McCutcheon was left speechless during a recent episode of Pop Top 10 when Rylan Clark dropped a bombshell — he had actually appeared in Love Actually.

Joining Rylan and Scott Mills on BBC Radio Sounds, the EastEnders actress, 49, was visibly stunned when Rylan, 36, casually revealed he had been in the background of one of the film’s most memorable scenes.

“I was in Love Actually,” Rylan said, prompting Martine to gasp, “Shut the front door!”

Martine famously played Natalie in the 2003 rom-com classic — the charming Downing Street staffer who wins the heart of the Prime Minister, played by Hugh Grant. But what she didn’t know was that young Rylan was present during the exact moment her character kisses Hugh’s Prime Minister backstage at the school nativity play.

“I was a school kid at Hill Top, I think the school was called,” Rylan explained. “I had to take four days off school and get it signed off. I had to learn ‘Catch a Falling Star’ to sing in the scene.”

Martine was floored: “So you saw when I kissed Hugh?”

Rylan confirmed it — he was right there.

Meanwhile, Rylan’s surprise confession isn’t the only big news. He’s also gearing up for a music comeback, reportedly working in Los Angeles with legendary hitmaker Diane Warren, whose songwriting credits include classics like “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” and “If I Could Turn Back Time.”

After a stalled music career post-X Factor, Rylan seems ready to rewrite the narrative — this time, possibly alongside some of the biggest names in pop history.
