Gordon Ramsay is said to have delivered a pointed and deeply controversial father-of-the-bride speech at his daughter Holly Ramsay’s wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty — a moment that has since intensified an already bitter family feud.
The lavish ceremony took place at Bath Abbey, followed by an exclusive reception at Kin House. But behind the glamour lay a deeply uncomfortable reality: almost all of Adam’s family were absent, including his mother Caroline, who was reportedly uninvited amid a long-running fallout.

According to reports, Gordon praised how beautiful Holly looked and told Adam he was a “lucky man,” before adding a line that raised eyebrows across the room. Gesturing towards his wife, he reportedly said Adam should “look at Tana — that’s what you have to look forward to,” before remarking to Holly that it was a “shame you don’t have the same,” a comment widely interpreted as a cutting reference to Adam’s absent parents.
In another emotionally charged moment, Gordon is said to have described swim coach Mel Marshall as being “like a mum” to Adam — reinforcing the sense that his biological family had been symbolically replaced on the biggest day of his life.

Adam, for his part, is believed not to have mentioned his parents during his own speech. Instead, he reportedly praised Mel Marshall as his “everything,” thanking her for grounding and inspiring him. New claims also suggest the swimmer has since blocked family members from contacting him.
The fallout has been devastating for Caroline Peaty, who was said to be “beside herself” with grief while sitting at home more than 130 miles away in Staffordshire as the wedding unfolded. She later admitted she felt as though her son and daughter-in-law had “cut my heart out,” adding that she could not bear to be hurt like this again.

The rift reportedly dates back to 2024, when Adam and Holly failed to invite wider members of the Peaty family to their engagement party, followed by further exclusions from pre-wedding celebrations. While Adam’s sister Beth attended as a bridesmaid, the rest of the family remained conspicuously absent — a silence that spoke louder than words.
What should have been a joyous union instead became one of the most talked-about weddings of the year, not for romance, but for the raw and painful family drama playing out behind closed doors.
