Nature presenter and beloved Springwatch star Michaela Strachan has shared the joyful news that she has become a grandmother for the very first time — and fans are flooding her with love and congratulations.

The 59-year-old TV personality took to Instagram to post a touching video montage of her step-son Thomas Chevallier’s newborn son, Huxley, born after a gruelling 55-hour labour with partner Mikayla Humphries.
“Today I became a Granny!! After an extremely stressful and exhausting labour, 55hrs, baby Huxley finally arrived!! So proud of my future daughter-in-law & my step-son. Proud new parents. Me and granny Jack were a wee bit emotional. Welcome to the world baby Huxley. So, so precious,” Michaela wrote, adding a sweet snapshot of her beaming while cradling the newborn alongside proud dad Tom.

Fans rushed to offer their well-wishes in the comments, with many sharing their own joy over grandparenthood.
“Congratulations to all! It’s the most special thing becoming a granny,” one fan wrote.
Another added: “You’ll love it – grandparent is the best job in the world!”
This is just the beginning of a double blessing for Michaela — she also revealed that her stepdaughter, Jadie Alice, is expecting a baby in September, making 2025 a landmark year for the family.

Just last month, Michaela hinted at the exciting news, joking: “Surprise, surprise! It seems I’m going to get 2 grandchildren this year!! What a blessing… Becoming a grandma is something I need to get my head around!”
After a career spanning decades on wildlife shows and recently reigniting youthful energy on Dancing On Ice, Michaela now steps into a new role — one she calls both emotional and exciting.
