In an emotional twist few saw coming, celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has finally been cleared after his accuser publicly apologized and admitted she had been manipulated into making false claims.
Anna Reynolds, 27, who once accused the TV chef of inappropriate behaviour, broke months of silence in an exclusive interview with The Daily Echo, saying: “I want to say I’m sorry. Sorry to Gino. Sorry to his family. Sorry to everyone who believed me.”
Her voice shook as she confessed, “The truth is… it wasn’t my story. It wasn’t my truth. I was pushed into saying things that weren’t real. I was manipulated.”

Anna revealed she had been coerced by a “powerful figure connected to the industry,” who made her believe she was doing something noble — when in fact, she was being used. “He made it sound like I was helping expose something. But I wasn’t. I was being used.”
Refusing to name the man, Anna said she feared for her safety. “He’s powerful. He has friends everywhere. I’m scared of what he could do if I said his name out loud.”
The young woman described months of guilt, anxiety, and insomnia after watching Gino’s reputation collapse. “Every time I saw him on TV or read about him losing work, it crushed me. I couldn’t keep lying to myself.”
Anna insisted her confession was voluntary. “Nobody asked me to do this. I did it because I couldn’t live with the guilt anymore. I just want to set the record straight.”
Although she stopped short of naming the manipulator, she hinted chillingly: “He’s closer than people think. And I’m still scared.”

Her retraction has reignited fierce debate about the original allegations and the media storm that followed, especially as Gino’s restaurant empire faced financial collapse amid the scandal.
Anna concluded quietly: “I take responsibility for what I said. I made a terrible mistake. I hope Gino and his family can forgive me. I just want peace — for him and for myself.”
As she left the interview room, Anna’s final words lingered like an ominous echo: “If anything happens to me… I just hope people will ask the right questions.”
