BGT Bombshell: Official Verdict on Teddy Magic’s Case Announced, What Really Happened?

Eight-year-old magician Teddy Magic, one of the youngest stars of Britain’s Got Talent 2025, has officially withdrawn from the competition after pulling out of his scheduled live semi-final performance at the last minute.

Teddy was expected to showcase his magic skills during last month’s semi-final, but presenters Ant and Dec announced on air that the young performer needed more time to prepare. Viewers were hopeful he might return in a later episode, but a BGT spokesperson has now confirmed that Teddy will not be rejoining the series this year.

“After discussions with Teddy’s parents and the production team, it has been jointly agreed that Teddy won’t perform in this year’s semi-finals,” the statement read. “But BGT hopes to see Teddy again in a future series.”

His family thanked fans for their outpouring of support. “We want to thank everyone who has supported Teddy and cheered him on – he continues to fill our world with magic,” they shared with The Sun.

During the broadcast, Simon Cowell appeared visibly unimpressed when Teddy’s absence was announced, asking: “So the act’s not ready?” While co-host Dec explained the young magician needed more time, Ant defended Teddy, saying: “He’s only eight years old, so back off!” Simon eventually softened his stance, telling the crowd: “If he’s not ready, he’s not ready.”

The same night saw technical issues delay other performances, but the show pressed on — culminating in The Blackouts dance act receiving the very first semi-final Golden Buzzer of the season.

While fans are sad to see Teddy go, many agree that giving the young talent time to grow is the right move. And with BGT hinting at a possible return in future seasons, the magic may not be over just yet.
