Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash may already have a bustling household, but the conversation around having more children is still very much alive for the couple — even if they don’t always agree on the answer.
Together, the couple are raising six children under one roof at Pickle Cottage. Stacey shares Rex (5), Rose (3), and Belle (2) with Joe, and has two older sons — Zachary (17) and Leighton (12) — from previous relationships. Joe also has a 17-year-old son, Harry, from a past relationship.

Fostering dreams
Both Stacey and Joe have spoken about their desire to foster children once their own kids are older and more independent. Joe once shared that fostering is something he and Stacey would love to do, explaining that his mother has been a foster carer for over 15 years and he’s seen firsthand how much of a difference it can make.
Stacey echoed those feelings while filming Sort Your Life Out, saying that Joe has always wanted to foster once the kids grow up and move out. When they met a family who had adopted two daughters, Stacey turned to Joe and said, “This’ll be us in 20 years if you get what you want,” to which Joe smiled and agreed, “It will be.”

Is baby number seven possible?
Despite already having six children between them, Joe hinted in an interview that the idea of having another baby isn’t completely off the table. He admitted that they’re “slightly addicted to babies,” explaining how fast the newborn stage passes and how they miss it once it’s gone. He confessed that while six seems like a lot, he’d never say never.
That said, Joe also joked that a vasectomy might be in his near future. He said he’s trying to resist, but Stacey keeps reminding him it’s reversible — something he considers a pretty big hint.
Stacey’s broody moments vs. reality
Stacey has been honest about how much she loves being a mum, even admitting on Instagram that watching her children grow brings her so much joy. When asked by a fan if she’d want another baby, she said she absolutely would, because there’s nothing in the world she loves more than being a mum. She ended her response with a laugh, saying Joe would probably run off for a vasectomy as soon as he saw what she wrote.
However, she’s also been realistic. During a 2023 Instagram Live, Stacey said that she and Joe had talked about it during a rare night away together and came to the conclusion that they simply couldn’t manage another child right now. She said they’re already struggling to juggle parenting, work, and everything in between.
She also reflected on how quiet the house would be in the future when all the kids are gone, and admitted that fostering might be something they seriously consider when that time comes. She said it would be sad when it’s just the two of them, and with so much love in their home, she believes fostering would be a beautiful next chapter.
Wrapping it up
Joe admitted that he still likes the idea of “one more,” but Stacey recently told The Mirror that she’s probably done for now. She said she can’t go through it all again, at least not while the kids are still small. However, she added that if they were older and more independent — and if they were lucky enough — then maybe she would consider it.
As for fostering, the couple seem far more aligned. Joe said he feels their home is full of love and that if the opportunity ever came up and they were in the right place in life, he truly believes they would be amazing foster parents.
