Stacey Solomon Gets Real About Why She Stays Silent on Her Older Kids’ Dads

Stacey Solomon has long been known for her honesty and openness when it comes to family life, but there’s one topic the TV star rarely discusses — and now she’s revealed exactly why.

The Sort Your Life Out presenter, 35, is a proud mum to five children with three different partners. Her eldest son Zach, 17, was born when Stacey was just 17 herself, during her relationship with Dean Cox. Years later, she welcomed Leighton, now 12, with former fiancé Aaron Barham.

While Stacey is now happily married to Joe Swash, 45 — with whom she shares Rex (5), Rose (3), and Belle (2) — she’s remained notably quiet about her past relationships.

Speaking to You magazine, Stacey explained the reason behind her silence:
“I don’t speak much about their dads because I don’t think it’s right for [the children] to read it.”

Her decision is one many parents can relate to — protecting her children’s privacy in a world where so much of her life is shared publicly.

She also reflected on her early struggles as a teen mum, admitting she feared she wouldn’t be financially secure. Everything changed, however, when she auditioned for The X Factor in 2009.

Stacey recalled almost missing her shot at stardom that day. She was the last person in the audition room, with Zach in tow and baby sick on her shoe. A producer nearly turned her away — until one woman stepped in.

“The lady in charge had had a child at a really young age, and she made them stay,” Stacey said.
“I’m eternally grateful to her.”

Since then, Stacey’s career has flourished — from Loose Women to I’m A Celebrity to her current status as one of the UK’s most loved TV personalities. And through it all, she’s navigated motherhood with authenticity, grace, and fierce love for her children — while choosing to keep some parts of their lives just for them.
