Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about a terrifying health scare that nearly cost him his life—just as Clarkson’s Farm was renewed for a fifth season. The 65-year-old presenter revealed he underwent emergency heart surgery to have two stents fitted, after doctors discovered that two of his arteries were dangerously blocked.

Speaking candidly, Clarkson said he was “perhaps days away” from death when he began experiencing chest tightness, pins and needles in his left arm, and general fatigue. He had initially brushed off the symptoms, which began after a swim during a tropical holiday, but things worsened upon returning to the UK.
“I felt mostly dead,” he wrote, recalling how climbing stairs left him struggling and how even loading pigs triggered warning signs. After rushing to the hospital and undergoing an ECG, blood tests, and X-rays, he was taken to the operating room where the life-saving procedure took place.
Now recovering, Clarkson has spoken about his new lifestyle—less meat, more celery—and admitted he’s “feeling better for it.”

But what about Clarkson’s Farm?
The hit Amazon Prime documentary series, which first aired in 2021 and follows Jeremy’s unexpected journey as a farmer in the Cotswolds, was renewed for a fifth season last November. Yet, amid his health issues, fans have been wondering if it might be the last.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Jeremy admitted: “I’d do a sixth if there was a reason for doing it—like a bloody good story. But if, say, my back turns out to be cancerous, then I wouldn’t.” He added that the crew also needs a break after filming consistently for five years.
So while Clarkson isn’t ruling out another season, it all depends on his health—and whether there’s more story to tell.
For now, the former Top Gear host is focusing on rest, recovery, and taking life a little slower. “Crikey, that was close,” he said. “I just have to not do any manual labour or empty dishwashers for four years. At least I think that’s what the doctor said.”
