“He is going to be the world’s best dad” – Dianne Buswell praised Joe Sugg as the couple prepare to welcome their “Strictly baby” in 2026

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has shared an emotional message about her partner Joe Sugg as the couple prepare to welcome their first child.

The professional dancer, 36, took to Instagram over the weekend to post a video of Joe playing with puppets, laughing and dancing them along a dresser. Clearly moved, she wrote: “He is going to be the world’s best dad.”

The couple, who first fell in love after being paired together on the BBC show in 2018, announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child. They revealed the happy news with a sweet video of them painting at home before turning the canvas around to reveal stick figures of Dianne, Joe and a baby, with “2026” written above.

Support from their Strictly family quickly poured in. Janette Manrara called it “the best news ever,” while Vito Coppola joked he would be “the best crazy Italian uncle.” Claudia Winkleman added: “So so happy for you – I’ll get ANY snack you need.”

Despite the demands of her training schedule with celebrity partner Stefan Dennis, Dianne has reassured fans that she has been cleared by doctors to continue dancing during her pregnancy. Speaking on Chris McCausland’s podcast, she explained that because dancing is such a natural part of her life, she can safely carry on while taking extra care.

In a Strictly first, Dianne is competing while pregnant, proudly showing off her baby bump during her opening performance of the new series. She has even promised to keep lifts and daring choreography in her routines.

The couple are expected to welcome their baby in early 2026, with Dianne continuing to call Joe her “rock” as fans hail the news as one of Strictly’s sweetest love stories.
