36 years of marriage ending in divorce, Linda Robson admits: “I should’ve left earlier” – Opens up about her broken relationship live on Loose Women

Loose Women star Linda Robson has opened up about her marriage breakdown in a powerful on-air admission, telling viewers she possibly stayed in her relationship longer than she should have.

During Thursday’s episode of the ITV daytime show, the panel discussed the delicate topic of knowing when to walk away from a long-term relationship. Presenter Charlene White gently turned the conversation to Linda, asking whether she had ever felt like leaving.

In a rare moment of honesty, Linda replied, “Yeah, in marriage—well, we were married for 36 years. Of course, there were good times, and there were bad times too. But as long as the good outweighed the bad, we kept going. What united us was the love for our children and grandchildren.”

However, she didn’t shy away from addressing the painful truth: “Sometimes, you do know when it’s time to leave. Maybe I should’ve done it earlier. But you carry on regardless.”

Linda publicly confirmed her split from husband Mark Dunford in 2023, ending a 36-year-long marriage. The couple shared two children, Louis and Bobbie, while Linda also has an older daughter, Lauren, from a previous relationship.

Previously speaking to OK! Magazine, Linda highlighted that she and Mark were very different people: “I’m sociable—Mark never really enjoyed that. We didn’t have a lot in common.”

Despite the emotional weight of the separation, Linda revealed she’s finding her feet again. “Of course I’ve felt sad about it,” she said. “But we had two lovely children together, and now they’re off living their lives. So it’s just me and Dolly the dog now. I’m in a good place. Work’s going well, and writing my memoir gave me a chance to process everything, including my struggles with mental health.”
