Pete Wicks Faces Possible Surgery as Old Eye Condition Makes a Comeback — Thanks to Olivia Attwood’s Spot-On Instinct
Reality star Pete Wicks has opened up about the unexpected return of a childhood eye condition that might now force him into surgery. Speaking candidly on his podcast Staying Relevant alongside best mate Sam Thompson, the 37-year-old revealed the condition has slowly worsened — and it was none other than his pal, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood, who spotted the signs.

Pete explained he had a “lazy eye” as a child, one that required him to wear an eye patch. “My mum used to call me Pirate Pete,” he shared, laughing through the memory. “I wore an eye patch as a kid to correct the problem — and it worked. But now, it’s coming back. It’s like the bad eye has decided to go for a little walk.”
Despite the light-hearted banter with Sam, Pete admitted the issue is affecting his confidence. “I’ve noticed it creeping in again, and Olivia was actually the one who clocked it first. She just came right out with it.”
He now has a specialist appointment lined up to assess whether the condition can be managed without surgery. “We need to figure out if it can be re-trained or if I’ll need surgery. I’m just hoping we catch it early enough.”
Adding a bit more intrigue to his personal life, it’s also rumoured Pete is dating Love Island star Samantha Kenny, 27, who appeared in the villa last summer. A source claimed the pair “really hit it off” and have been on several dates.
