David Beckham has broken his silence after celebrating his 51st birthday surrounded by loved ones — while eldest son Brooklyn Beckham once again failed to publicly acknowledge the occasion.
The former England captain shared an emotional message with fans after spending the day with wife Victoria Beckham, their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, as well as close friends and relatives. Alongside a throwback photo from his school days, David reflected on how “lucky” he felt despite the growing tensions inside the Beckham family.
He wrote: “I feel very lucky & blessed to have had a very special day today being spoilt by my wife, kids, family and friends from the moment I opened my eyes till now and I just want to say thank you and I love you all so much & my beautiful family thank you.”
But fans quickly noticed one major absence.
Brooklyn Beckham remained completely silent throughout the celebrations, marking the second year in a row he has apparently ignored his father’s birthday publicly. The silence comes after months of reported tension between Brooklyn and the Beckham family, following his shock decision earlier this year to distance himself from what he allegedly called “Brand Beckham.”
While Brooklyn stayed quiet, the rest of the family made sure David felt celebrated in unforgettable fashion — including a very unusual birthday surprise.
Victoria Beckham revealed that she and the children had bought David a group of chickens as a family gift for his birthday. Sharing videos from the couple’s sprawling £15million Cotswolds estate, David could be seen wearing a cowboy hat as he carefully carried the birds into their new coop, grinning throughout the wholesome moment.
From behind the camera, Victoria laughed: “It’s David’s birthday and this is me and the kids bought him, from the boys, they’re so pretty!”
She later added: “Happy Birthday, we love you so much!!”
Romeo Beckham also posted a heartfelt tribute featuring childhood photos with his father. He wrote: “Happy birthday dad, love you so much, thank u for everything you do,” before calling David his “best mate.”
Cruz Beckham shared yacht photos with his father alongside the message: “Happy birthday I love you xxx.”
Meanwhile, Harper Beckham called David “the best daddy in the whole world,” adding: “I honestly could never ask for a better role model too, you are always here for me and I will always be here for you too anytime anywhere.”
The emotional family posts arrived amid continuing reports of a deep divide between Brooklyn and his famous parents.
Victoria recently addressed the painful situation publicly for the first time, insisting she and David have always tried to “protect” and “love” their children despite decades in the spotlight.
She said: “We love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.”
