Tragedy Strikes Again: Linda Nolan’s Stepson Dies Just 4 Months After Her Own Heartbreaking Death

The Nolan family has been hit by another heartbreaking loss, as Linda Nolan’s stepson, Lloyd Hudson, has died following a relentless battle with metastatic throat cancer. His death comes just four months after Linda herself passed away after her own long fight with the disease.

Lloyd, the son of Linda’s late husband Brian, was diagnosed in September 2023 with a tumour too close to his vocal cords for surgery. Despite undergoing intensive radiotherapy, the cancer eventually spread to his lungs, mouth, brain, and liver, becoming incurable.

Those close to the family said Linda and Lloyd had supported each other through their darkest moments—texting after treatments, sharing side effects, and even joking to lighten the burden. “Linda believed he would outlive her,” one family friend said. “She needed to believe that.”

A touching tribute from Lloyd’s cousin shared the emotional toll his loss has taken: “Cancer has ripped our family apart. My brain won’t accept this is real. Lloyd was the one who made me laugh, protected me, and gave me some of the wildest and most beautiful memories.”

Lloyd’s health saw brief hope last year when a scan showed the cancer had cleared from his throat. But as Linda’s condition worsened—with her cancer spreading to her brain—Lloyd received the devastating news that his cancer had returned and spread.

Linda died earlier this year after contracting double pneumonia. Her loss followed that of her husband Brian in 2007 and her sister Bernie in 2013, both also victims of cancer. Her siblings Anne and Coleen have also battled the disease, with Anne surviving breast cancer twice and Coleen being diagnosed with skin cancer in 2023.

Lloyd’s strength in the face of suffering was praised by friends: “He was brave, selfless, and never wanted pity. He just wanted to win. But this disease is cruel.” Now, as the Nolan family grieves yet again, the shadow of cancer continues to haunt them.
