“The Message That Tore the Family Apart”: Adam Peaty’s Mum Goes Public With the Text She Believes Was ‘Perfectly Innocent’ — But Holly Ramsay Took Offence and Sparked a Rift That May Never Heal

Adam Peaty’s mum, Caroline Peaty, has broken her silence and revealed the exact moment her relationship with her son began to collapse—starting with a single text message she sent to his fiancée, Holly Ramsay.

Speaking candidly, Caroline said she expected to feel “pure joy” as the mother of the groom, especially knowing Adam had found “his soulmate” in Gordon Ramsay’s daughter. Instead, she found herself shut out—left off the guest list for the lavish hen party at Soho Farmhouse, where Tana Ramsay and Victoria Beckham were in attendance, and later allegedly uninvited from the couple’s Christmas Day wedding at Bath Abbey.

Caroline recalled first meeting Holly at the Paris Olympics last year. They bonded instantly, she said, and even confided in each other about delicate personal matters. “We had a really good time. We both shared confidences that will remain confidential,” she told the Daily Mail, adding that she had voiced concerns that Adam seemed to be “pulling away” from the family.

According to Caroline, Holly initially reassured her with a heartfelt message, telling her she had “got her son back” and that Adam would “always be part of your family.”

But everything changed after the engagement. When several members of Adam’s extended family were left out of the celebrations, Caroline sent a text to Holly expressing her sadness. “I told her, you know how important family is to you, as it is to me. My sisters are not coming to the party; they have been there all through Adam’s life…” she explained. Adam, she claimed, “didn’t take kindly” to the message—and that moment marked the turning point.

Caroline even approached Gordon Ramsay at the engagement party to clarify there was “no ill intent” behind her message. But the shift had already happened.

While Holly celebrated her hen party surrounded by celebrity friends, Caroline stayed home caring for her grandson—Adam’s child from a previous relationship.

Tensions escalated when Adam’s aunt, Louise William, publicly defended Caroline and claimed Adam had said “vile” things to his mother. “He’s a born-again Christian,” Louise wrote. “Where is ‘honour thy mother and thy father’? Where is the forgiveness?”

Responding to a critic who accused the family of “lack of decorum,” Louise insisted: “Our family and friends place real value on love, friendship, loyalty and being there for each other. I have seen, heard and read the most vile things a son can say to a mother.”

With the wedding days away, the wounds now seem deeper than ever—sparked, according to Caroline, by one text message she wishes had never been taken the wrong way.
