David Beckham proved once again he’s both a romantic and a master of cheeky humour as he celebrated Victoria Beckham’s 52nd birthday with a deeply personal — and slightly mischievous — tribute.
Taking to Instagram, the football icon, 50, shared a series of throwback moments that traced their love story back to the very beginning. Among them was a still from the Say You’ll Be There music video in 1996 — the exact moment he says he first fell for the woman who would become his wife.
But it wasn’t all romance.
In a playful nod to one of the most talked-about scenes from his Beckham documentary, David couldn’t resist poking fun at Victoria’s now-infamous “working class” claim. He shared a childhood photo of her standing beside her father’s Rolls-Royce — a subtle but unmistakable reminder of the moment he hilariously interrupted her on camera to set the record straight.
The post blended nostalgia with humour, as David also included a sweet photo of Victoria with her parents, Tony and Jackie Adams, along with a loved-up honeymoon snap from 1999 in the South of France.
He ended the tribute with a heartfelt message, writing that he wished a happy birthday to “the one & only Posh Spice,” adding that they all love her so much and would make sure she has the most special day because, as the best wife, mum, friend and even gym partner, she truly deserves it.
Their son Romeo Beckham was quick to follow with his own tribute, posting “Happy Birthday mum love you so so much have the best day,” alongside a touching photo of the pair. Meanwhile, Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel shared her own message, thanking Victoria for “raising my favourite human in the whole world” and calling her kindness inspiring.
