Princess Charlotte celebrated her 10th birthday on May 2, but according to a royal expert, the milestone is likely to carry a tinge of sadness for a deeply relatable reason. Phil Dampier, a royal commentator, shared that while Prince William and Princess Kate must be thrilled to see Charlotte growing into a confident young girl, they’ll also feel the bittersweet sting of how quickly time flies.

He said: “Like all parents, William and Catherine will be proud to watch Charlotte blossom into a teenager and then a young woman, but there’s always that emotion—realising she won’t be a little girl for much longer.”
Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born at 8:34 a.m. on May 2, 2015, at St Mary’s Hospital in London. Her birth was a joyous occasion, with Prince William and Kate stepping out of the Lindo Wing just 12 hours after the delivery, beaming as they introduced their daughter to the world.
Today, Charlotte is the middle child between Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 7. And while her 10th birthday is certainly a cause for celebration, it also comes at a time of heightened emotion for the family. With Kate Middleton’s ongoing health battle and King Charles’s own challenges, royal watchers believe the celebrations will be filled with both joy and reflection.
“They’ve had a tough year, but this birthday will still be a bright moment,” Dampier added. “They’re bound to feel emotional, but it will be a celebration of resilience, family and love.”
