Stacey Solomon has reportedly decided to give this year’s BAFTA TV Awards a miss following the fierce backlash she faced over her emotional reaction to losing at last year’s ceremony.
Rather than walking the red carpet in a glamorous gown, the TV favourite is currently soaking up the sun in Miami on a paid brand trip with Space NK alongside her children — a very different vibe from the pressure and scrutiny of the BAFTAs.
The backlash stemmed from last year’s awards when Stacey openly admitted she was “devastated” after her BBC series Sort Your Life Out failed to win. While some fans praised her honesty, others cruelly branded her a “sore loser” and a “spoiled brat” online.

At the time, the emotional presenter defended her team in a heartfelt Instagram video, explaining just how much the nomination meant to everyone involved in the show.
She said: “I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ, but I’ll be honest, I’m devastated.
“The crew also deserve the BAFTA after the effort they put into making the show.”
Stacey’s hit BBC home makeover programme, which first aired in 2021, had been nominated in the Factual Entertainment category but ultimately lost to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s Grand Tour project.

Although she congratulated both Rylan and Rob publicly, Stacey made no attempt to hide her disappointment over the result. She also missed out in the Entertainment Performance category.
The former The X Factor star later addressed fans while filming from her garden, dressed casually in a green Nike sweatshirt and blue cycling shorts, as she emotionally explained why she felt so strongly about the loss.
This year, however, it appears Stacey is choosing peace over pressure — swapping awards season stress for sunshine and family time in Miami.
She’s not the only TV name giving the ceremony a miss either, with Rochelle Humes and Olivia Attwood also reportedly joining Stacey abroad instead of attending the awards.
