Six Losses, £500K Gone… And Still Fighting: Ollie Locke shares fresh insight into his “humiliating” financial struggles, revealing £500,000 IVF costs and admitting his twins are “nonverbal” and require expensive speech therapy

Ollie Locke has laid bare the brutal reality behind his journey to fatherhood, admitting the experience left him emotionally broken and financially overwhelmed.

The 39-year-old reality star revealed he and husband Gareth Locke spent an eye-watering £500,000 on IVF and surrogacy in their desperate bid to have children. What began as a hopeful plan quickly spiralled into years of heartbreak, including the devastating loss of six pregnancies.

Ollie explained that they were initially advised to budget around £150,000, but costs rapidly escalated. He said they ended up selling their home just to continue treatment, adding that the bills became “through the roof” as their journey stretched across four exhausting years, worsened by Covid delays and legal hurdles.

Despite finally welcoming twins Apollo and Cosima in 2023, the financial aftermath has been brutal. The couple later fell into rent arrears of £25,000 on a £4million Chelsea property and now reportedly owe £45,000 including fees and legal costs.

Ollie admitted the situation left him feeling “humiliated” and pushed him into a breakdown, describing it as the lowest point of his life. He shared that the stress not only exposed strained friendships but also left him battling deep depression.

While Gareth remained more composed, he acknowledged their struggles are not unique, insisting many families face financial pressure. However, he stressed that their priorities have completely shifted since becoming parents.

Raising twins has brought relentless expenses—especially as both children were born prematurely at 31 weeks. The couple now face ongoing medical and developmental costs, including specialist support.

In a heartbreaking update, Ollie revealed that nearly three years on, their children are still nonverbal, requiring intensive and costly speech therapy. He shared that they are currently spending around £1,000 a week on specialist care because the twins are not yet ready for nursery.

Gareth explained that their unpredictable careers in television and influencing have made things even harder, saying childcare is essential but incredibly expensive. He added that they had already cut back on luxuries, including holidays, to prioritise their children.

The emotional toll has also tested their relationship dynamic. Gareth described himself as the “strong one”, while Ollie admitted he is more emotional and has struggled to cope under public scrutiny.

Now, the couple are determined to move forward—leaving behind their high-profile Chelsea lifestyle in search of a more grounded, family-focused life. Ollie confessed he had long tried to maintain a façade of luxury, but reality has forced a complete reset.
