Scottish actress Sharon Rooney has officially been confirmed as one of the famous faces taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors — and the BBC’s explosive new cast is already sending fans into meltdown.
The Glasgow-born star, best known for her breakout role in My Mad Fat Diary, will travel to the iconic Ardross Castle alongside 20 other celebrities, all competing for a cash prize worth up to £100,000 for charity.

Hosted once again by Claudia Winkleman, the psychological reality phenomenon will see contestants secretly divided into “Faithfuls” and “Traitors,” with the Traitors murdering players during the night while the others desperately try to expose them before it’s too late.
Among the huge celebrity names joining Sharon are Michael Sheen, Maya Jama, Ross Kemp and Julie Hesmondhalgh. The line-up also includes Jerry Hall, Amol Rajan, Richard E Grant and comedians James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett and Joanne McNally.
The competition only gets tougher with stars like James Blunt, former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, actress Miranda Hart and Bella Ramsey all entering the game.

The first celebrity version of the hit BBC show became a massive television sensation last autumn, peaking at 15.4 million viewers during its dramatic finale. Fans watched in shock as comedian Alan Carr managed to win the entire competition as a Traitor, helping turn the spin-off into one of the UK’s biggest TV successes of the year.
Following the phenomenal ratings, the BBC has reportedly secured a huge three-year deal for the franchise, including multiple future celebrity and civilian series — proving the Traitors phenomenon is only getting bigger.
