“Save the Show? No Thanks!” – Lorraine ‘Refuses’ Lifeline Amid Brutal ITV Shake-Up

ITV’s beloved Lorraine show could still be saved amid sweeping daytime schedule cuts — but only if one key presenter agrees to a major change. According to insiders, Christine Lampard is seen as the perfect replacement to lead the show full-time. However, sources claim she’s not interested, potentially sealing the fate of the long-running programme.

From January 2026, ITV’s Good Morning Britain will be extended to 9:30am, pushing Lorraine into a reduced 30-minute slot airing just 30 weeks a year. The broadcaster says the decision is part of cost-saving efforts while reshaping its news and entertainment offering.

Behind the scenes, tensions are reportedly growing. While ITV bosses are eager to keep the Lorraine brand alive, there’s concern that Lorraine Kelly herself has become “too absent” from her own show in recent years. One source told MailOnline, “She ruled the show with an iron fist, but lately, she hasn’t been around much.”

The situation reportedly became “too much hassle” for ITV, who’ve increasingly relied on Christine and Ranvir Singh to fill in at short notice. But Christine Lampard’s reluctance to commit full-time has left ITV in a bind.

“She’d be ideal to save the slot,” the insider said, “but she doesn’t want it.”

With Good Morning Britain expanding and a new central London production hub launching, the future of Lorraine’s show remains in limbo — unless a compromise is made.
