Rylan Clark was visibly emotional as he took to the stage at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards, shedding tears after winning the Factual Entertainment award alongside Robert Rinder for their BBC series Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour. The show, which saw the pair exploring Italy together, clearly meant more to Rylan than just television.

While accepting the award, Rylan delivered a lighthearted speech thanking the BBC and asking for a “bigger styling budget,” before turning serious as he touched on the emotional backdrop of the series. “Two gay guys going through a divorce,” he joked, “but not to each other.”
Later backstage, the walls came down as Rylan admitted: “The show came at a really weird time for me. I wasn’t fully over the breakdown of my marriage.” He shared how being thrown into filming with a judge like Rob Rinder unexpectedly became the “best therapy” he needed.
Fighting back tears, Rylan revealed that the process felt like reliving adolescence—raw, vulnerable, and all on camera. “Everyone made the show look exactly how it was. They didn’t try to make it pretty,” he said.

Robert Rinder also paid tribute to their mothers, who gave them “unconditional love,” while praising Rylan for his courage and honesty.
Despite the emotional evening, Rylan hinted at brighter things ahead. He teased a second season of the series—this time filmed in India—and even dropped hints about a possible new chapter in his love life, sharing he’s now “off the apps” and “doing alright.”
From X Factor contestant to BAFTA-winning presenter, Rylan’s journey has been anything but linear—and on this night, it came full circle with heartfelt tears, laughter, and a well-earned sense of pride.
