Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien’s daughter shocks fans by admitting she skipped GCSEs – but could earn £2m before 18: No grades, no problem

Ryan Thomas’ daughter Scarlett has surprised fans by revealing she never sat her GCSEs – even as teenagers across the UK collected their results this week.

Scarlett, 16, whose mother is Corrie star Tina O’Brien, has been carving her own path in the entertainment industry since landing her first role in Waterloo Road back in 2023. Speaking on TikTok, she admitted: “Watching everyone get their GCSE results today wondering if I could’ve had good results – but I will forever wonder.” She added warmly: “Well done everyone, you should all be beyond proud whatever results you got.”

While GCSEs are not legally required, not having them can limit education and job prospects later in life. Still, Scarlett seems to be banking on her fast-rising career, with industry experts predicting she could earn at least £2 million before she turns 18.

Her parents Ryan and Tina, despite past tensions, have united in support of their daughter’s ambitions. A source said the family “spend hours deliberating” on the best steps for Scarlett’s career, alongside her cousin Teddy.

Scarlett, who has already gained more than 165,000 TikTok followers and 138,000 on Instagram, has previously clapped back at critics calling her a “nepo baby,” saying: “God forbid a girl takes the chances she gets.”

PR expert Lynn Carratt praised the Thomas family’s savvy approach to social media, noting that their TikTok collaborations are now “garnering even more attention than traditional TV.” She added: “Scarlett comes across as confident, talented and likeable – she’s clearly destined for big things, maybe even a girl band one day.”

With her name already making waves in showbiz, Scarlett’s decision to skip GCSEs may not hold her back – but it’s certainly got everyone talking.
