Pete Wicks admits he ‘never liked’ one of Sam Thompson’s exes — and prefers him single after Zara McDermott split

Pete Wicks has bluntly confessed that he “never liked” one of best mate Sam Thompson’s former girlfriends — and even admitted he thinks Sam is better off single.

The 36-year-old TOWIE star made the comment straight to Sam’s face during a special birthday episode of their podcast Staying Relevant, in which Sam put Pete through a lie detector test.

Hooked up to wires and a pressure cuff by lie detector expert Mark, Pete faced a series of awkward questions written by Sam himself. When asked, “Do you like me more now that I am single?”, Pete simply replied “yes” — and the expert confirmed he was telling the truth.

The conversation then took a spicier turn when Sam pressed, “Have you disliked any of my previous partners?” Pete paused, laughed, and said “yes” once again. The test confirmed he was being honest, prompting Sam to squeal: “Yes, truthful!”

However, Pete refused to reveal which ex he was talking about, leaving fans guessing. Sam’s dating history includes Made in Chelsea co-star Tiff Watson, Love Island’s Samie Elishi, and nutritionist Steph Robinson — plus his high-profile five-year relationship with Zara McDermott, which ended in January.

The breakup saw Sam’s love life make headlines, with rumours linking him to Too Hot To Handle star Lucy Syed before he briefly dated Steph. Meanwhile, Zara has since moved on with One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson.

Despite the curiosity, Pete stayed tight-lipped on which romance got his disapproval — but his grin suggested he was more than happy with Sam’s current single status.
