Ozzy Osbourne’s chilling admission about own mortality resurfaces after d.e.a.t.h: Ozzy Knew It Was Coming

In a chilling echo of his own words, a five-year-old interview with Ozzy Osbourne has resurfaced following the news of his death at the age of 76. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away peacefully with his family by his side, just weeks after his emotional final concert, Back to the Beginning, at Villa Park.

Ozzy had long been open about his deteriorating health and even predicted his own mortality in a 2020 interview with Kerrang! published shortly after he revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis. Speaking candidly at the time, he admitted: “I think about it; I don’t worry about it. I won’t be here in another 15 years or whatever… but I don’t dwell on it.” He also confessed that he wasn’t happy and added, “I haven’t got my health.”

Despite the gravity of his condition, Ozzy chose to use his platform to raise awareness for Parkinson’s, with proceeds from his farewell gig going to charities including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Caroline Rassell, CEO of Parkinson’s UK, praised the rock legend’s honesty: “By speaking openly about his diagnosis, Ozzy and his family helped so many others. They normalised difficult conversations and made others feel less alone.”

Helen Matthews, CEO of Cure Parkinson’s, also shared a moving tribute: “It seems incredible that just weeks ago he was performing at Villa Park. We are deeply grateful to him for spotlighting our work.”

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by wife Sharon Osbourne and their four children—Louis, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly—who issued a joint statement: “It is with more sadness than words can convey that we report our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away. He was surrounded by love. We ask for privacy at this time.”
