Michelle Keegan has given fans a heartwarming glimpse into her very first overseas holiday as a mum — and revealed the nickname she’s given her baby daughter, Palma.
The Brassic star and husband Mark Wright, both 38, recently took their two-month-old daughter on a sun-soaked trip to Spain’s Costa del Sol. It marked their first international getaway as a family of three, following a short UK staycation earlier this year.
Michelle celebrated her birthday during the trip and later shared a series of stunning snaps from their stay at the luxurious SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort. Among the images were touching moments between the actress and her daughter, including one of her cradling Palma poolside and another where the baby is shaded under a blanket.
Captioning one post, Michelle wrote: “Princess P’s first family holiday.” The sweet moniker has already charmed fans, who flooded the comments with love.
Michelle also gave fans a behind-the-scenes peek at her holiday wardrobe, proudly wearing pieces from her [Very] fashion collection each night. She joked: “Perfect, because my holiday packing was already done months ago.”
Earlier this year, Mark Wright addressed the meaning behind Palma’s name during an interview on This Morning, following speculation that it was inspired by the Spanish resort. He said: “We love the name Palmer with an ‘er’, and then we just liked putting an ‘a’ on the end… we just loved the way it read.”
Although they didn’t name her after a destination, the family’s Spanish escape seems to have made “Princess P” feel right at home under the Mediterranean sun.
