Mark Wright’s family left stunned and unimpressed by Michelle Keegan’s unexpected decision: “That’s not who she is”

Michelle Keegan has made a partial return to work just months after giving birth to her daughter Palma — and not everyone in her extended family saw it coming.

The former Our Girl star, 37, recently returned to the set of Brassic to film scenes for the final season of the hit comedy-drama. Though she originally planned to take a long break from the spotlight, sources say Michelle was eager to get back to doing what she loves — and she brought her baby and husband Mark Wright along for the ride.

A source told Heat Magazine that Michelle’s decision “came as a surprise” to some of Mark’s relatives, who believed she’d stay home during Palma’s early years. “But that’s just not who Michelle is,” the insider said. “She’s incredibly proud of her career and grateful to be in a position where she can balance motherhood and work.”

The Brassic team has reportedly been extremely supportive, welcoming Palma on set and making accommodations to help Michelle juggle her new role as a mum and a working actress.

Despite online criticism from some mum-shamers, Michelle has remained unfazed. Her priority, the source stressed, is still her daughter — but she’s also embracing a flexible return to acting that allows her to do both.

The couple’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. Earlier this year, while Michelle was heavily pregnant, the couple experienced a break-in at their home, forcing them to barricade themselves in a room after intruders shattered a patio door. That experience left a mark, with Michelle reportedly still uneasy about being home alone.

Now, back on set and with her family by her side, Michelle feels more at ease. Mark, her husband of nearly a decade, is said to be nothing but supportive. “He’s just happy to see her fulfilled,” the source said. “He knows Palma will grow up surrounded by love, fun, and two hardworking parents.”
