Louise Redknapp Slams Age Critics: ‘Happiness is What Counts — Not Your Opinion!’

Louise Redknapp Slams Age-Gap Criticism as She Gushes Over Boyfriend Drew Michael: “He’s Everything I Needed”

Louise Redknapp has broken her silence on her romance with Drew Michael — a relationship that’s not only going strong but also defying expectations.

The 50-year-old singer, who rose to fame with the 90s girl group Eternal, opened up on the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast hosted by Lisa Snowdon and Andy Goldstein, gushing about her boyfriend Drew, 41, a London-based businessman. The couple started dating in 2023, six years after her high-profile divorce from footballer Jamie Redknapp.

“He’s just a really great guy,” Louise said. “I feel very lucky to have met him. He’s great with my boys, and a real friend to them.”

But it’s not just the love that has tongues wagging — it’s the age gap. Louise didn’t shy away from the topic, pointing out the double standards that still exist: “If it was the other way around, no one would mention it. But when it’s the woman who’s older, people feel the need to bring it up.”

Louise shares two sons with her ex-husband Jamie — Charlie, 19, and Beau, 15. She says Drew has fit naturally into their lives and praises how “things are super good” right now. “It’s just nice enjoying someone’s company,” she added. “I’ve really learned to enjoy the good things.”

Though she admits she still worries about the future, Louise has worked hard to stay present: “It’s taken me a long time, but I’m focused on the now.”

And as it turns out, her latest album may have predicted this chapter in her life. One of the tracks, Manifesting, was inspired by Drew. Laughing, she explained: “The song is totally tongue-in-cheek. It’s not about him exactly, but it’s about calling in the kind of love you need. And I guess, in a way, he’s what I was waiting for.”

Her relationship isn’t the only thing that’s bloomed post-divorce. Louise has reignited her love for music and found a new sense of purpose. “The kids were getting older, and I knew I had to find something for myself again,” she told Virgin Radio. “I couldn’t just keep existing. I’m an entertainer — it’s who I am.”

Now, with love in her heart and music back in her life, Louise Redknapp seems to be thriving — living proof that it’s never too late to find joy on your own terms.
