Drama unfolded live on This Morning as hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were forced to pause the broadcast after a crew member appeared to collapse behind the scenes.
Just moments into the show, which aired the day after ITV confirmed major shake-ups to its daytime programming, the presenters were previewing the day’s lineup when they suddenly broke off script.

Cat began by teasing the appearance of actress Jo Joyner to promote her latest drama Little Disasters. But Ben’s attention quickly shifted as he noticed something off-camera.
“You alright over there, Ed?” he asked, visibly concerned.
Cat echoed the question: “Ed, are you alright?”
Ben then added: “Little crash landing?” before confirming, “It’s a little collapse on Camera Two.” Thankfully, he reassured viewers that the crew member was fine, even joking: “It is a dramatic thriller, I can understand.”
Cat laughed and added, “He’s gone pink!” as the two tried to lighten the mood.
But the hiccups didn’t stop there. Moments later, a wide camera angle showed radio host Tom Swarbrick staring at his phone, unaware he was already on screen while waiting for his segment with Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

The moment drew mixed reactions online. Some viewers criticised the show’s political lineup, while others mocked the unprofessional slip.
It was an unpolished start to a tense day at ITV, as sweeping changes — including reduced airtime and job losses — cast uncertainty over the future of the network’s flagship shows.
