Lisa Riley has officially become the unexpected comedy star of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after her explosive, almost theatrical reaction to winning fish and chips sent both the camp — and the internet — into fits of laughter.
The viral moment aired during Tuesday night’s episode, after Shona McGarty smashed the “Walk The Plank” Bushtucker Trial, securing eight out of nine stars and giving the starving campmates their best shot at a proper meal. Tensions had been boiling earlier in the day — a washing-up row erupted and even camp leader Ruby Wax admitted the hunger was “pushing her over the edge.”

But the mood flipped instantly when the group earned a rare night at the iconic Jungle Arms. After perfectly reciting their Jungle ID to bouncer Kev, the reward was unveiled: fish and chips. And nobody embraced the moment quite like Lisa.
As she marched back into camp clutching the food, viewers said she was “channelling her inner Mandy Dingle,” with one fan writing: I just love Lisa’s energy — it’s so infectious. Another joked: POV: your best mate comes back from the takeaway with the goods.
Even former campmate Fleur East joined in the fun, saying: When you haven’t had proper food for weeks, this is the only appropriate reaction! They’ll be in heaven with those salty chips.
Comments poured in across X and Instagram:
• Biggest smile and tears of joy. Lisa is just brilliant.
• Honestly, Lisa is such a good laugh.
• I work in a chippy and we get this reaction daily.
• Lisa Riley is comedy GOLD.

The celebration came just 48 hours after Lisa proved her grit in her first solo Bushtucker Trial, the Mine of Misery, where she faced rats, spiders, mealworms and green ants in total darkness. Greeting Ant and Dec with a cheeky “Hello you delicious duo,” she powered through to claim eight stars, crawling through narrow tunnels while accidentally grabbing a dummy diamond and even a camera.
Meanwhile, Tuesday’s episode also saw Kelly Brook become the fourth celebrity eliminated from camp. After walking the bridge, she emotionally reunited with her husband Jeremy Parisi, who had flown into Australia last week. Reflecting on her exit, Kelly admitted: “It would have been nice to get to the final, but there are people in there that want it more than me.”
But the night truly belonged to Lisa — who, with one over-the-top celebration for a paper-wrapped parcel of fish and chips, managed to make the whole nation laugh.
