Lily Allen “can’t remember” how many abortions she’s had – possibly four or five – and said it was “romantic” when a boyfriend paid for one. Her brutally honest confession left even her best friend stunned in a jaw-dropping podcast moment

Lily Allen has left fans stunned after revealing she “can’t remember exactly how many” abortions she’s had. The 40-year-old singer made the bombshell admission on her Miss Me? podcast with best friend Miquita Oliver, during a frank discussion about birth control and reproductive health.

Laughing as she reflected on her past, Lily confessed: “Yeah, I’d get pregnant all the time,” before singing a parody of Frank Sinatra’s My Way: “Abortions, I’ve had a few… but then again… I can’t remember exactly how many.”

She estimated the number could be “four or five” but wasn’t sure. Miquita, 41, responded with her own revelation, saying she had “about five too.” The pair embraced the moment with a sense of pride, expressing gratitude for being able to speak freely about their experiences without facing judgment.

Lily then recalled a former partner who paid for one of her abortions, calling it “so romantic” at the time. Miquita agreed, adding: “That’s romantic, right?” Lily joked back: “Am I an idiot? What? Getting rid of the problem?”

Miquita admitted feeling “very excited” after her first abortion, saying it made her feel like a woman.

Later in the podcast, Lily criticised society’s expectations for women to “justify” their decision to terminate a pregnancy, saying: “It actually irritates me. Just saying ‘I don’t want a baby’ should be enough.”

Now a mother of two daughters – Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 12 – Lily also recently split from her husband, Stranger Things actor David Harbour, after four years of marriage.
