Dan Walker appeared unfazed as he carried on with work commitments, even as a high-profile tribunal involving serious allegations of racism, sexism, and bullying began behind the scenes.
The Channel 5 News presenter, 49, seemed in notably high spirits during his Classic FM breakfast show, sharing a cheerful selfie and urging listeners to “have a cracking Monday” — a message that contrasted sharply with the storm brewing elsewhere.

Walker later revealed he was heading to the iconic Royal Albert Hall to present Classic FM Live alongside Myleene Klass, describing the day as “exciting” despite the legal drama unfolding in parallel.
Meanwhile, his former colleague Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, 47, arrived at the London Tribunals Centre to formally pursue claims against ITN, the production company behind Channel 5 News. She alleges a deeply troubling culture of racism, sexism, misogyny, and workplace bullying within the newsroom.

The case, expected to last five weeks, names Walker as a respondent alongside ITN and Channel 5’s parent company, Paramount. However, the presenter was not present on the first day of hearings, which were held behind closed doors.
Walker has firmly denied all allegations.
In a previous statement, Vanderpuije’s legal team claimed she was subjected to a “sham redundancy” after raising concerns as a whistleblower about what she described as a toxic and discriminatory environment. Her lawyers further alleged that both ITN and Channel 5 attempted to conceal this culture despite legal obligations.

Despite the mounting controversy, Walker appears determined to maintain a sense of normality — continuing his broadcasting duties and public appearances while the case unfolds.
