Katie Price has admitted her family want “nothing to do” with her husband Lee Andrews, revealing that their relationship has become what she described as a “gimmicky joke” following months of controversy surrounding his legal troubles and online reputation.
The former glamour model, 48, tied the knot with Lee in January. However, the businessman has yet to travel to the UK to meet Katie’s family and friends because he remains unable to leave Dubai due to an ongoing travel ban linked to financial disputes.
Despite repeatedly standing by her husband in the face of mounting criticism, Katie confessed that those closest to her have become increasingly concerned.
Speaking while promoting her new Sky documentary, she explained that she had urged Lee to stay away from social media after his release from prison.

She said: “I said to Lee when he got out of prison, ‘don’t go on socials’.
“It’s not really fair on me now, you have just got to stay away from it because it’s become such a gimmicky joke now.”
Lee has attracted widespread attention online for posting videos featuring what critics have claimed is an AI-generated hairstyle while repeatedly rejecting accusations that he is a conman.
During an appearance on This Morning, Katie revealed that although Lee still hopes to come to England, her family have no interest in meeting him.
She said: “My family want nothing to do with him because it’s become such a joke now.
“I want them to meet him but they’re like ‘no’, but they are protecting me.”
Katie said her new documentary explores the painful experiences she has endured in previous relationships and explained why her family are being so cautious.
She added: “If you see my documentary you will see how many times men have let me down. They are protecting me that they don’t want another one to use me or break me.
“I have had therapy. I won’t let another man break me or use me.”

The documentary also revisits several chapters of Katie’s personal life, including her marriage to Peter Andre, with members of her family describing that relationship as “stifling.”
Lee continues to face scrutiny over allegations made by several former partners, who have accused him of financial deception.
Among the claims, one woman alleged he took £5,000 from a vulnerable victim, while former partner Dina Taji previously accused him of secretly taking out a £200,000 mortgage in her name without her knowledge. Legal action that followed reportedly resulted in Lee being banned from leaving Dubai.
Dina has largely remained silent publicly but is understood to have recently met Katie to warn her about continuing the relationship.
Another former partner, Crystal Janke, claimed she handed Lee £123,000 after he promised investment returns worth £1 million, while his ex-fiancée Alana Percival has also publicly warned Katie about him.
Lee has strongly denied all allegations of fraud and insists there is “not one shred of evidence” proving he has been charged with such offences.
Earlier this year, Lee also made headlines after Katie initially claimed he had been kidnapped before it later emerged he had been detained at Dubai’s Al-Awir prison.
Although reports linked his detention to alleged fraud investigations, Lee insisted he had actually been held on suspicion of espionage before later being imprisoned over what he described as a civil case.
He claimed: “They took me to the Qatar border by the men, at gunpoint and was captured by men with assault rifles.
“They did slap me round a little bit, little s***s.”
Fresh reports have also claimed Lee could face returning to prison if he fails to clear outstanding debts within two weeks.
Court documents reportedly show debts including around £54,000 relating to a rental vehicle and a further £15,000 owed to a legal firm in the United Arab Emirates.
A representative for Lee said: “The judgement debtor appeared before the court and was questioned regarding the reason for failure to pay the debt.
“He stated his wife is currently outside the country and that he has been unable to access his bank account required to make payment.
“He requested a period of 14 days in order to settle the outstanding amount.”
A source also claimed Lee believes he can repay the debts himself and has not asked Katie for financial assistance, despite crediting her with supporting him throughout his legal difficulties.
