Kate Middleton has marked Prince William’s 43rd birthday with a touching gesture that melted royal fans’ hearts – by releasing a candid photo of the Prince of Wales cuddled up with their beloved dog Orla and her new litter of puppies.

Taken by Kate herself earlier this month in Windsor, the image captures a serene and joyful William, surrounded by the four playful pups and their black cocker spaniel mum, Orla – a gift from Kate’s brother, James Middleton, in 2020.
The picture was posted on the couple’s official Instagram page, accompanied by a loving caption signed “C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies” – presumed to represent their children Charlotte, George, Louis and the family pets.

This heartfelt moment comes after a tumultuous year for the royal couple, during which Kate battled cancer and underwent chemotherapy. William, meanwhile, juggled his royal duties while supporting his wife and their children – and also his father, King Charles, who is facing his own health battle.
Now, with Kate reportedly in remission, the royal family has been able to focus once again on happier moments – including public outings at Trooping the Colour, Garter Day, and even an engagement with actress Cate Blanchett for William’s Earthshot Prize.

According to royal expert Jennie Bond, William has thrown himself into work with fresh determination now that the worst appears behind them – but insists that for both him and Kate, family still comes first.
