Jamie Oliver received a stark ultimatum from his wife: “If you buy a plane, I’m leaving you!” Jools has been revealed to be neurodivergent, making life deeply challenging, while the couple recently renewed their vows in the Maldives in a romantic ceremony with their five children

Jamie Oliver has shared the surprising moment his wife Jools gave him a blunt ultimatum, admitting she once threatened to walk out on him if he bought a private plane.

The celebrity chef, 50, who has been married to Jools for over two decades and shares five children with her, recalled the memory during a chat with Chris Moyles on Radio X. He said Jools looked him in the eye and asked if he was considering buying an aircraft. When he denied it, she fired back: “If you buy a plane, I’m leaving you!”

Jamie laughed as he told the story, revealing that while he never splashed out on a jet, Jools did gift him two flying lessons for his birthday. He said it opened his eyes to the quirky world of aviation enthusiasts, though he never pursued it seriously. Still, he recalled the thrill of completing his first solo flight after just a handful of lessons.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2000, renewed their vows in a romantic family ceremony in the Maldives two years ago, surrounded by their children Poppy, 23, Daisy, 21, Petal, 16, Buddy, 14, and River, nine. Jools wore an off-the-shoulder white gown while Jamie chose a powder blue suit, and the chef later described the moment as “special, funny and romantic,” saying the words carried even more meaning after 23 years together.

Away from the laughter, Jamie has also opened up about Jools’ health. He recently revealed she is neurodivergent and said her condition can make life “really challenging,” though he praised her as “the rock” of their family. Several of their children have also been diagnosed with neurodivergent conditions, something Jamie says has brought them even closer as a family.
