Sam Thompson has officially confirmed his romance with DJ Talitha Balinska — and shared the surprisingly tender moment he asked her to be his girlfriend.
The pair first crossed paths last year during a photoshoot for Sam’s sunglasses brand, Dinelli Eyewear, shortly after his breakup with Zara McDermott. What began as a few low-key dates slowly turned into something more serious, even if Sam initially hesitated to use the word “girlfriend.”
Now, speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast with best mate Pete Wicks, Sam couldn’t contain his excitement as he declared: “I’ve got a girlfriend. I’ve got a girlfriend!”
He went on to describe the night he finally asked Talitha to make things official. According to Sam, they were out for dinner when he told her: “Look, I really like you. I mean, I really, really like you, and you make me feel really comfortable.” He then added that he wouldn’t be dating someone for this long if he didn’t think it “had legs to last”, before asking: “So will you be my girlfriend?” Talitha said yes — and Sam, completely over the moon, simply replied: “Great.”
Sam had already hinted at their blossoming relationship in October on the same podcast, after Pete teased him about “what stage” the pair were at. Sam admitted they were dating, but insisted there was “no pressure, no time frame,” adding that the relaxed pace was exactly what made the connection feel right.
Of course, Pete couldn’t resist a joke, warning Sam not to repeat last year’s heartbreak: “Oh, we can’t go through another break-up, not this year. At least wait till next year, darling.”
In recent weeks, Sam has taken a major step by introducing Talitha to his sister Louise, her fiancé Ryan, and their son Leo — a get-together the family happily shared on social media.
Meanwhile, Sam’s previous relationship with Zara McDermott — which began during their time on Made In Chelsea — ended last December after what sources called “a tough year.” Despite the emotional split, insiders said the pair “still care and have a lot of love for each other.”
For now, Sam and Talitha seem to be enjoying a fresh, easygoing romance — and after making things official, the future finally looks a little clearer for the reality star.
