“I Won’t Waste My Pain on You”: Cruz Beckham Strips Down to Just a Shirt and Boxers in Wacky New Music Video About ‘Self-Love, Acceptance and Starting Afresh’ — As Brother Brooklyn Marks Fourth Wedding Anniversary and Sends Message to Family

Cruz Beckham has turned heads with his boldest music video yet, stripping down to just a shirt and boxers for the release of Waste Your Pain as the Beckham family feud continues to simmer in the background.

The 21-year-old musician, who performs with his band The Breakers, appears to embrace chaos and freedom in the lively new clip, which leans into themes of self-love, acceptance and moving on after pain. In the song, Cruz reflects on emotional recovery, singing about finally being able to “see us moving on” and feeling “free at last” after what appears to be a toxic breakup.

For the video, Cruz throws himself fully into the playful concept, channelling the carefree spirit of Tom Cruise in Risky Business as he dances around half-dressed alongside his bandmates. The track, produced by Justin Raisen and Lewis Pesacov, arrives as another major step in his fast-rising music career.

Sharing the video with fans on Instagram, Cruz wrote: “WASTE YOUR PAIN MV IS FINALLY YOURS. Forever grateful for you all.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise, with one writing: “I LOVE IT,” while others called it a “great tune”, an “absolutely banging video”, and said it was “worth the wait.”

The release follows a strong run for Cruz and The Breakers after their debut headline tour, which took them through grassroots venues across the UK before ending with a three-night run at London’s Courtyard Theatre. The response from critics only added to the momentum. The London Standard described Cruz as “impish, likeable, possessed of a clear talent” in a four-star review, while CLASH praised the band as “on the come up, leaning into the music first. No overproduction, no pretense, just a tight, energetic set with real moments of personality and potential.” Metro also backed the young star, declaring: “He might just be a rock star in the making.”

But the timing of Cruz’s video has only added more intrigue, landing just as his older brother Brooklyn Beckham appears to have reignited tensions with the family once again. Brooklyn, 27, recently marked his fourth wedding anniversary with wife Nicola Peltz by sharing a deeply emotional card that many saw as another pointed message aimed at his estranged relatives.

In the card, Brooklyn told Nicola: “Happy 4 year anniversary baby I love you with all my heart. We have been through so much together but today we are stronger than ever and you are my best friend. I can’t wait to grow old together with you.”

He doubled down in the caption, writing: “Happy anniversary @nicolaannepeltzbeckham x love you with all my heart. Can’t wait to stay young with you xx love you so much x.”

The anniversary post came after Brooklyn had already sent shockwaves through the family earlier this year when he reportedly insisted he wanted no further contact with them. He also made explosive claims surrounding his 2022 wedding to Nicola, alleging that Victoria Beckham cancelled plans to make Nicola’s dress at the last minute, “hijacked” the first dance, and “danced inappropriately” with him.

Days later, Brooklyn appeared to stir things up again by showing off a new tattoo tribute to Nicola reading “Our little bubble” while promoting his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23.

That business has had its own complications too. Although Brooklyn named the brand after David Beckham’s famous No.23 shirt, the company reportedly faced legal opposition during its expansion plans before eventually reaching a resolution.

The family rift has become even more noticeable as Brooklyn has covered several tattoos once dedicated to his relatives, including one for his father. Still, some ink remains untouched, including his “brotherhood” tattoo, which matches designs previously worn by Romeo and Cruz.

Against that backdrop, Cruz’s latest release feels bigger than just another music video. With lyrics about healing, freedom and fresh starts, and with Beckham family tensions still dominating headlines, fans are once again asking the same question: is this only a song — or is it saying far more than that?
