Loose Women star Denise Welch has finally broken her silence on rumours of a fallout with co-star Olivia Attwood — admitting the pair haven’t spoken in almost a year.
The actress and broadcaster, 67, revealed in a candid Instagram video that she has had no direct contact with Olivia for nine months, despite once appearing incredibly close to the reality TV star.
Denise explained: “I haven’t seen Olivia for nine months. The last time I saw her everything was completely normal.
“I haven’t seen her, talked to her, I read about her on Instagram and whatever. Great.”
The revelation comes after months of speculation that tensions had quietly erupted between the two Loose Women panellists behind the scenes.
Olivia, 34, joined the ITV daytime show in 2023 and quickly formed a friendship with Denise, even inviting her onto her Olivia’s House podcast as the pair bonded over their outspoken personalities and sense of humour.
But while Loose Women has been on hiatus, fans began noticing the pair no longer interacted publicly — fuelling rumours that their friendship had dramatically cooled.
Despite confirming they have not spoken, Denise appeared eager to shut down claims of outright hostility, insisting the last time they met everything was “completely normal.”
She also revealed she remains in regular contact with fellow Loose Women star GK Barry, joking that GK keeps asking when she will appear on her podcast.
Behind the alleged fallout, reports claimed tensions began after Denise started working with stylist Ryan Kay — a former friend of Olivia’s.
According to sources, Olivia allegedly felt hurt that Denise had formed a friendship with Ryan following Olivia’s own major falling out with him.
An insider claimed Olivia felt “betrayed,” especially after helping introduce Denise to a younger audience through her podcast appearances and social media exposure.
The source alleged: “Olivia feels like her and Denise’s friendship made Denise relevant again; she’s furious at what she sees as a lack of loyalty.”
The awkward situation comes during an emotional period for Olivia, who recently split from husband Bradley Dack earlier this year.
While neither Denise nor Olivia has directly confirmed a feud, Denise’s blunt admission that they have not spoken in nine months has only intensified speculation that something serious may have happened behind the scenes at Loose Women.
