Liz McClarnon has opened up about the toll that eight rounds of IVF took on her mind and body before she finally fell pregnant at 44.
The Atomic Kitten star, who announced her pregnancy in May, took to Instagram with an emotional video montage showing her and husband Peter Cho’s three-year fertility journey — a path marked by hormone injections, heartbreak, and unwavering hope.

“After eight IVF cycles within three years, as you can imagine, I’ve been on hormones more often than not,” Liz shared in the caption. “Sometimes I looked normal. Sometimes very not.”
Her video revealed vulnerable moments: Peter helping with her first injections, her gradual weight gain, and a quiet admission that she began to feel “a little bit broken”. Yet, every injection, every clinic visit, was filled with “the look of hope”.

Liz and Peter began IVF early in their relationship, aware of her age. After three failed embryo transfers in 2022 and two devastating miscarriages in 2024, Liz said she felt “done”. Peter fully supported her decision to stop, saying, “This is your body and I’ll support whatever you decide.”

But after a reflective Christmas in Liverpool, they tried one last time — and it worked.
In May, Liz revealed her pregnancy by turning around on a park bench to show her bump. “After years of painful IVF and dark times, I’m pregnant! We feel like we’ve been given the world,” she said.

She now hopes to use her experience to support others in similar battles, saying, “I want to add my voice and ears to those already helping others understand all that comes with IVF and loss.”
