Eamonn Holmes’ girlfriend Katie Alexander is said to have turned to prayer as the veteran broadcaster continues recovering in hospital after suffering a stroke at home.
The GB News presenter, 66, was rushed to hospital after he was reportedly found slumped unconscious at his home last week. While he is now said to be responding to treatment, those close to the couple say the ordeal has left Katie deeply shaken.

According to reports, Katie has been praying for Eamonn every day as she struggles to come to terms with what happened. She is believed to have spent much of her time by his side in hospital, only leaving briefly to return home for essentials, while doing everything she can to support his recovery.
A source said Katie had been left devastated after an emotional and exhausting week, adding that she had gone to church to pray alone. The insider said she is a devout Christian and had been in shock after spending so much quality time with Eamonn over the Easter weekend, before his condition suddenly worsened.

Fortunately, there has been some reassurance for those closest to him. It has been reported that Eamonn is now on the road to recovery, with Katie remaining constantly at his bedside as friends and family continue hoping he will soon be well enough to return home.
The frightening health scare is the latest in a long and painful chapter for the presenter, who has battled serious health issues for years. Eamonn has previously spoken openly about living with chronic pain and mobility problems, and he now relies on carers following a series of medical setbacks.
Among his previous health struggles, he was diagnosed with a dislocated pelvis that led to three slipped discs, while a fall down the stairs during his recovery from pelvic surgery left him with a fractured shoulder. A further spine and neck procedure in 2023 reportedly did little to ease his pain, and his mobility has continued to decline.

He had been expected to return to his breakfast programme on Monday, April 13, but is now set to remain off air for the foreseeable future as he focuses on getting better. He has not appeared on screen since March 11, when some viewers voiced concern during a live interview.
In a statement, GB News said: “Eamonn was taken ill last week and it was later confirmed he had suffered a stroke. He is currently responding well to treatment. Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better.”
The broadcaster added: “His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the People’s Channel when he is ready to return.”
Eamonn’s son Declan also thanked the public for their support and offered a hopeful update on behalf of the family. He said: “I just wanted to share a quick message to say we hugely appreciate all the messages, it means a lot to us as a family. What happened came as a real shock, but dad is doing OK given the circumstances and we’re taking it one step at a time.”
