Duffy has made an emotional return to public life after spending more than a decade away from the spotlight following the traumatic kidnap and rape ordeal that changed her life forever.
The Welsh singer, now 41, was photographed for the first time in years after stopping by Caffi Largo in Pwllheli, Wales, where delighted staff posed for a picture with the Grammy-winning star.
Sharing the image online, the café wrote: “Celebrity singer from Nefyn, Amy Duffy, popped into the Caffi this morning. Always lovely to see local talent supporting local spots. ❤️”

Smiling for the camera with her signature blonde hair worn loose, Duffy appeared relaxed and in good spirits as she enjoyed a rare public appearance.
The singer became one of Britain’s biggest music stars in 2008 when her smash hit Mercy and debut album Rockferry propelled her to international fame, earning her three BRIT Awards, a Grammy and an Ivor Novello Award.
However, after releasing her second album, Duffy disappeared from the public eye in 2010, leaving fans wondering why one of the UK’s brightest talents had seemingly vanished.
Years later, in 2020, she finally revealed the heartbreaking truth behind her disappearance.
In an emotional essay titled The 5th House, she disclosed that she had been drugged while celebrating her 26th birthday, before being taken overseas and raped. She later revealed she had been held captive for several weeks after being returned home.

Opening up about the ordeal, Duffy wrote: “The truth is, and please trust me I am OK and safe now, I was raped and drugged and held captive over some days.”
Addressing those who had spent years wondering what had happened to her, she added: “Many of you wonder what happened to me, where did I disappear to and why.”
The singer also explained why she had remained silent for so long, writing: “You wonder why I did not choose to use my voice to express my pain? I did not want to show the world the sadness in my eyes.”
She continued: “I asked myself, how can I sing from the heart if it is broken?”
Duffy later revealed that the trauma left her battling suicidal thoughts and that she initially kept the experience secret before eventually seeking help from a therapist.
Now, 16 years after the devastating events that forced her into seclusion, the Mercy star is preparing for a remarkable comeback.
Last month, she announced plans for a secret, intimate concert in London on July 5, where lucky fans will hear brand-new music for the first time.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Duffy said: “I’m doing a secret intimate gig in London on the 5th July, next month, and I would love nothing more than for some of you to attend.”
She added: “It’s only small capacity so we can only select a few, but really looking forward to it, I will sing some new songs.”

The performance will mark her first public gig since she disappeared from the music scene in 2010.
Duffy has also confirmed that a new Disney+ documentary is in development, promising unprecedented access to her life and career.
Last month, the singer returned to social media with a black-and-white photograph from a recording studio, accompanied by a heartfelt message to her supporters.
She wrote: “If only I could find the right words to explain how much I’ve missed you all. Working on coming back to you. Duffy x.”
For fans who never stopped hoping for her return, Duffy’s re-emergence marks the beginning of a new chapter — one built on resilience, healing and the promise of music once again.
