Former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney appears to have found romance with 31-year-old Kate Black — a Harvard graduate who friends say is “not his usual type.”
The 47-year-old actor, best known for playing Robbie Jackson, reportedly met Kate through mutual friends earlier this year. The pair enjoyed their first date in April and have been quietly seeing each other since.
Kate, who studied International Relations at Harvard and later pursued Artificial Intelligence at the University of York, is described as “smart, hardworking and ambitious.” A source told The Sun: “Dean’s smitten and they get on really well despite the fact she’s not exactly his usual type. He normally dates party girls, but Kate’s more of a homebody. She loves his sense of humour and his laid-back attitude to life.”
Although Dean’s representative denied any romance, Kate responded with a teasing, “Yes, but no comment.”
Dean, a father of twin daughters from his relationship with ex Sarah Burge, has openly spoken about looking for love in recent years. After signing up to several dating apps including Hinge, Bumble, and Raya, he previously joked that “dating me is like winning the lottery every day.”
It seems this time, however, Dean may have finally met his match — and not through an app, but through a friend.
