Simon Cowell’s new Netflix series The Next Act hasn’t even launched, yet the drama behind the scenes is already stealing the spotlight — thanks to a fiery moment between Simon and long-term partner Lauren Silverman.
In the newly released trailer, cameras capture a rare glimpse of tension at home. Lauren, visibly frustrated as Simon once again slips into work mode, tells him she’s supporting him “because that’s what you do when you love somebody.” Moments later, overwhelmed by how much the conversation is being filmed, she asks to have her microphone removed — the three words that instantly shut everything down.

Lauren goes on to open up about Simon’s all-consuming dedication to his career, saying work “is not just work, it’s his life.” The moment paints a raw, unfiltered portrait of a couple trying to navigate the pressure of a career that never truly switches off.
The Next Act, streaming on Netflix from December 10, follows Simon’s attempt to launch a brand-new boyband with help from close friends, including pop mogul Pete Waterman. Reflecting on their reunion, Pete says working with Simon again is “great fun,” adding that if Simon ever asked him to “walk across hot coals,” he’d do it without hesitation.

The series promises backstage chaos, high-stakes decisions, and, as this viral trailer suggests, brutally honest moments from the Cowell household — moments that might say more about fame, love, and obsession than any talent show ever could.
