Abbey Clancy couldn’t resist poking fun at her husband Peter Crouch after the former England striker revealed his latest obsession – tennis.
The 39-year-old model joked that Peter shouldn’t “come home” unless he wins, after he confessed on their podcast The Therapy Crouch that he’s “caught the bug” for the sport.

Peter explained that the passion started when he began taking their 14-year-old daughter Sophia to lessons, before deciding to book himself in too. Soon, he was sneaking off early in the mornings during their holiday, leaving Abbey baffled as to where he’d disappeared.
Abbey laughed: “Pete’s found a new love. Every day on holiday I’d wake up and he’d be gone. Turns out he was booking himself tennis lessons alongside Sophia. He’s even joined a tennis club and signed up for competitions.”

Peter admitted he now wants to compete properly, saying: “I had a couple of lessons, felt good, and thought, ‘I want to see how far I can go with this.’ I’ve genuinely got the bug.”
When a producer accused him of “chickening out,” Abbey stepped in sharply: “I don’t like men who chicken out. You’re so confident, so you’d better win – or don’t come home.”

Peter reminisced that tennis was always part of his childhood summers alongside football, but he put his focus into football, which ultimately led him to a Premier League and England career. Now, two decades later, he’s ready to give tennis another shot.
Abbey and Peter, who first met in 2006 and married in 2011, now share four children together.
