Sophia Smith, former girlfriend of late One Direction star Liam Payne, has tied the knot with her partner James Bridgwood in a glamorous London ceremony.
The 30-year-old influencer, who dated Liam between 2013 and 2015 after being friends since their Wolverhampton school days, looked stunning in a chic high-neck A-line gown paired with a dramatic veil. Her hair was styled into a sleek bun as she posed with James on the rooftop of Hotel Café Royal. She captioned the Instagram post simply: “Mr & Mrs!! @cranberryblueevents you made our day perfect xxx.”
The couple, who share a daughter, Angelina, born in April 2023, announced their engagement last December with a romantic black-and-white video showing James proposing on Christmas Day, surrounded by rose petals and champagne.
Sophia’s past with Liam was once serious enough for marriage talks, but the couple split in 2015. At the time, Liam told The Sun on Sunday: “I’m absolutely devastated to have split with Sophia, but sometimes it’s better to do what’s right for someone rather than follow your heart.”
The wedding comes amid lingering heartbreak for Liam’s fans, still reeling from his tragic death last October in Buenos Aires after falling from a third-floor balcony. His death, caused by multiple traumatic injuries, has led to manslaughter charges against five people in Argentina, with a UK inquest set to resume in November.
