British Actor Breaks Down in Tears After Wife Killed and Daughter Injured in Horrific Vancouver Car Attack
British actor Noel Johansen has spoken through heartbreak after losing his wife, Jenifer Darbellay, in a devastating car attack in Vancouver, Canada. The 50-year-old costume designer was killed when an SUV ploughed into crowds gathered for the Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party, an event celebrating Filipino heritage. Eleven people lost their lives and dozens more were injured in the shocking incident.

Noel, who has appeared in shows like Supernatural, Fargo, The Good Doctor, and several Hallmark films, was also hurt in the crash and attended a public vigil on crutches. His seven-year-old daughter, Darby, was seriously injured, while his teenage son, Ford, also witnessed the tragedy.
Fighting back tears at the vigil, Noel said: “What you see here is an injury that means nothing to me — because what’s inside my heart is broken. My wife died at the scene behind me. She never celebrated herself… but she was larger than life.”
In an emotional tribute, he encouraged others not to “play small” in life. “Be big. Reach out. Live fully. And please remember all of us affected by this.”
Friends have since launched a fundraiser to support Noel and his children. The page describes Jenifer as a deeply loving mother, a talented artist, and a generous soul who volunteered regularly and left a mark on everyone she met. “She gave the best hugs, never judged, and had the sweetest voice,” the tribute reads.

Authorities confirmed the attack killed nine women and two men, with victims aged between five and 65. Though a 30-year-old man was arrested, police are not treating the case as terrorism.
What should have been a joyful celebration turned into one of Vancouver’s darkest days — and left a grieving actor trying to hold his shattered family together.
