Patrick Kielty’s heartfelt final tribute to Cat Deeley now reads like a farewell love letter, months before the couple shocked fans by announcing their split after 13 years of marriage.

In February 2024, the Northern Irish presenter had shared an emotional Instagram post celebrating Cat’s new role as the host of This Morning. He called her “wonderful,” praised her boundless energy, and said she was made for morning TV, noting, “She gets up every day with a smile on her face… it’s every morning, which is bloody difficult cos she’s married to me.”
The post, filled with clips of Cat laughing at home and spending time with their kids, would be the last he ever shared about her. Since then, Cat has quietly deleted all traces of Patrick from her own Instagram.

Their separation, announced in a joint statement, came with a request for privacy: “There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents.”
The couple, who met in 2002 while hosting Fame Academy, only went public with their romance in 2011 and married a year later in Rome. They share two children, Milo and James.
But by 2025, signs of trouble had emerged. They hadn’t been pictured together in public since September 2023. And in March, Cat did not attend Patrick’s mother’s funeral—despite hundreds lining the streets to support the family. A representative said she stayed home to care for their sons.

Cat also failed to acknowledge Patrick publicly on Father’s Day this year. Her last Instagram mention of him was an oddly detached post from October 2023: a ’90s-style slideshow where she wrote, “Slightly terrifying but obsessed.”
Now, fans are reflecting on Patrick’s loving February post with sadness. His proud words—“We couldn’t be prouder of you, Cat. Go get ‘em, Mama”—have become a painful echo of a love that once seemed unshakable.
